Summer Outings Programme 2022

Tuesday evening outings.
Meet at 7.00pm at the venue


    Tuesday 17th May Rivelin : Leader John Beadman
    Meet at the car park off Rails Road then walk down the valley.
    Suggested pub for after the walk is the Sportsman Inn.
    Tuesday 7th June Fairholmes : Leader Frank Milner
    Meet at the car park near the kiosk. Frank will lead the walk and suggest a pub for afterwards.
    Tuesday 21st June St.Marie's Cathedral : Leader: Jane Perryman
    Meet at the entrance on Norfolk Row to be shown round the Cathedral by Eileen Maher. There is no charge but suggested donation of £5.
    There is no car park specifically for the Cathedral.
    Tuesday 5th July Kelham Island : Leader Gareth Morgan
    Meet at Kelham Island entrance. There will be an opportunity to photograph two "Steam Punk" models or you can do a self-guided tour of the island. Meet afterwards at the Fat Cat.
    Tuesday 19th July Hope Church : Leader Keith Brown
    Meet at the church gates next to Loxley Hall. There will be an opportunity to photograph bell ringers in action as well as the church and around Hope.
    Tuesday 2nd August General Cemetary : Leader John Beadman
    Meet at Cemetary Road entrance at 7:00pm.

Saturday visits
All visits by personal transport with possibility of car share. Please discuss arrangements with fellow members. All venue costs gained from web sites and may be liable to change, so guide only.


    Saturday 21st May Yorkshire Sculpture Park
    Information available on their web site. Entrance cost £6 per person including parking and entrance to exhibits (YSP advise advance booking). Suggested meeting time 10.45 in restaurant.
    Saturday 11th June Portrait session : Leader Gareth Morgan

    Saturday 25th June Barrowhill Roundhouse
    Opening time 10 am – 4 pm. See web site site for details. Entrance cost £7.
    Campbell Drive Barrow Hill Chesterfield S43 2PR. Again suggest car share and meet 10.45 in the café. Open to the public.
    Saturday 30th July Crich Tramway Museum
    The most expensive trip at £17.50 per person but lots to see and this gets you in for 12 months visits. Tram rides included in the price!
    10 am – 4.30 pm but suggest earlier start of 10.30 am. Probably 45 min journey.
During the course of the next few months members may come up with information about 'open days', re-enactments, special events etc. which may well be of photographic interest to members. Watch this website and the forum for announcements.
